LIttle is known about Playground Echo other than this recording is all they ever did. Layers of detuned bass and guitars over a throbbing pulse with sharp stabs of piano create an unsettling atmosphere. The band are reported to have said that their intention was to make psychological warfare within a pop framework. Rumours that the track was offered to the CIA in Guantanamo Bay are unfounded but the shadowy nature of the band has led to much speculation about their politics and their intentions...
